FireSabre and Virtual Africa
Tuesday, 23 October 2007 20:39

At FireSabre, we are proud to announce that we are among the short-list finalists to work on the the Virtual Africa project ! Arranged by Uthango Social Investments and its partner institutions, this promises to be a huge build, of over a dozen SL regions. There has been a huge outpouring of interest from Second Life™ build companies, and it is a point of pride for us to have made it onto Uthango's short list in the face of such competition.

And bravo to Uthango for this ambitious, visionary project!

FireSabre on Ramapo Islands
Saturday, 06 October 2007 14:49

One of FireSabre's biggest projects, and most long-running, is the Suffern Middle School on Ramapo Islands, a private estate in the Second Life™ Teen Grid. Ramapo Central School District Suffern was the first school or school district to develop a presence in Second Life™, This project is now entering its second year online and adding three new regions. We at FireSabre are proud to have supported the Ramapo Islands project last year, and to continue our work together as the new school year begins!

Announcing Virtual World Campus!

Buy an island. Build stuff. Get your students there, somehow. That's been the stock solution for educational projects in Second Life™. But what if your school is starting small? Are you going to spend most of your budget just buying 16 acres of bare land? Do you need that much land to begin with? Do you have the knowledge and expertise to turn that empty lot into a place to learn? How do you set up accounts for all your staff and students? How do you manage the technical side of running a virtual classroom, and still concentrate on teaching?
