Recently, FireSabre founder Fred Fuchs (aka Gus Plisskin) was interviewed for a story in the Omaha World-Herald. Read about it here! The story is an introduction for uninitiated readers to what virtual worlds are, and the fact that one can make real-life money in some virtual worlds, such as Second Life™. It's all old news to anyone reading our site, but it's nice to see ourselves mentioned in such a positive story about SL. Congratulations Fred, and thanks to the World-Herald staff! Fred was also interviewed by the Houston Chronicle for this article which centers on educational use of Second Life. Here to stay! |

Many of you know RacerX Gullwing: builder, scripter, rabbit-about-town, and FoF (Friend of FireSabre). He's the white rabbit in Robbie Dingo's "Mask", one of the most distinctive faces in SL, and himself one of SL's top machinimists. RacerX holds an event every Saturday morning at 11:00AM SL Time: Giant Snail Racing! It's held in Montmartre , adjacent to our home sim, The Future. |

We have consultants in several cities around the country, and SL is sort of a transcendent locale all its own; but Gus (Fred) and Tinker (Kevin) call Houston, Texas home. Because of this, and a chance meeting at the Houston PHP/MySQL User's Group, we caught the attention of Josh Tabin and Kurt Stoll, proprietors of StartupHouston.com, a news site devoted to local entrepreneurship. They interviewed us in Second Life™, in our ultramodern, palatial corporate headquarters in The Future. (BTW, the article and the audio track both identify your humble author as a co-founder of the company. It's flattering, but it's not true; FireSabre is Fred's baby from the start.) See the video here. Thanks, Kurt and Josh! |

Congratulations to our client, friend, and co-conspirator Peggy Sheehy (Maggie Marat in SL) and her Suffern Middle School team on winning the 2007 Edublog Award ("the Eddie") for Best Educational Use of a Virtual World! Peggy has put a lot of talent, imagination, and hard work into this project, and she and her colleagues richly deserve the recognition. We at FireSabre are proud to have been a part of this project. Congratulations, Peggy! |
